Jenifer Rohrberger
Working with early readers and writers on foundational literacy skills has always been my passion, so I’m excited to get to do that again here a few times a week. I taught Kindergarten in private schools for about 10 years before having children of my own. I then had the pleasure of homeschooling Ellis for part of Kindergarten, and then 1st and 2nd grade. The learning that goes
on during these years is just magical to me, so to get to be a part of that again is so rewarding.

On the days that I am here, I’m meeting with children in small groups in order to provide best practice individualized instruction. We are strengthening phonological awareness skills through rhyming games, syllable work, and concept of word activities. These activities then allow us to build their skills to get them ready for manipulating letters and sounds in words in order to
support their developing decoding skills. We are putting it all together when we read books as a group to build fluency and work on comprehension.
