The Nature of our Foundation
The Nature School curriculum is designed to cultivate the natural curiosities of our learners. We provide a nurturing and caring environment, enhanced by a low student-teacher ratio and a personalized approach to learning. We combine individualized instruction with hands on experiential learning. Our curriculum is meaningful and relevant, helping students learn to analyze situations, make decisions, solve problems, and communicate effectively.
“What do parents owe their young that is more important than a warm
and trusting connection to the Earth…?”
~ Theodore Roszak
Intrinsically Motivated students with learning goals
Children have time to explore their interests and passions while simultaneously learning needed skills for success.

Standardized Testing does not rule the curriculum. Student needs based on the ongoing observations of the student and teacher drive instruction on a day-by-day basis
Interdisciplinary, Project Based Units
The Nature School offers Integrated projects which include more than just the core subjects, but also include art, music and dance.
Multi-Age Grouping
Determined by a child's academic needs and interest: groups are fluid, providing challenge to all learners.
Time in Nature
Creative, imaginative play is an integral part of students' outdoor experience. Exploration occurs both on site and off campus as students explore our diverse ecosystems and their community
Social, Emotional and Physical Wellness
Social, emotional, and physical health are embedded in all that we do. The Nature School fosters student choice and autonomy ensuring that all learners are engaged and self -regulated.
